Municipal Election Spotlight: Max Lindstrand
1. My name is Max Lindstrand and I am running for the position of Mayor for the City of Camrose.
2.I am completing my 4th term as a Councillor and believe that I
can use this experience to help provide good municipal governance for Camrose.
My priority is to make Camrose a better place for all residents regardless of
their life circumstances.
3. When I was a young boy, the library was on Main Street where
Mainstreet 1908 is now located. The librarian was Mrs. Henry. We lived on a
farm and came to Camrose only on Saturdays. The library had a rule that only 3
books were allowed to be taken out at a time. I was such an avid reader that I
pleaded with Mrs. Henry to let me take out more than 3 books since that would
not last for a whole week. She was so kind to me and always allowed me to take
out one for each day! Thank you Mrs. Henry!
4. I am currently reading 2 books - a James Michener novel “Journey”
and Malcolm Gladwell’s , “The Tipping Point”.
5. The library now provides a wide variety of print and non print
media for patrons as well as internet access sorely needed by many. The
supporting municipalities can ensure that the high quality service can be
maintained by providing adequate grant support.
6. My vision for Camrose is Utopian in that all residents would enjoy the basic necessities of life, where everyone can enjoy arts and recreational opportunities, where all basic services are provided, where environmental concerns are a priority, and where taxes are affordable.
