My name is Angie Debogorski. I am running for the position of Camrose County Councillor in Division 4. I am taking the opportunity to run for office to serve the amazing community I live in. I am grateful to be in this beautiful county and to have a chance to participate in Municipal politics.
A library is very important to communities. I remember my first playgroup experiences in a library. My favorite part of the playgroup was to sing along to the rhythmic portions of the picture books the librarian read to us. That experience is as memorable as my excitement to discover the plethora of books in the libraries when I attended the University of Alberta. I read for hours and hours for both knowledge and pleasure. I am currently reading nursery rhyme books to my grandchildren as well as a professional development book called Fierce Conversations! The library serves a crucial role in lifelong learning and adventure through media for all.
Camrose County Council appears to have a supportive relationship with local libraries and the Parkland Regional Library System. The relationship allows for impressive access of books to delight many interests. I envision new council members will continue enthusiastic support for local library’s and systems to maintain them. The local library brings communities opportunity to interact in an assortment of ways. I have accessed group activities, assisted school age research projects and helped senior friends choose romance novels. These examples only skim the ideas I would collaborate with the board for continuation of the libraries positive status in the community. Keeping a symbiotic relationship between County Council and library boards is a vital topic!
I appreciate the opportunity to become a member of County Council with a chance to work with the library board. The role of County council to interact with all stakeholders in the community toward broader common goals is a reason I want to serve on County Council. Being accountable and effective as a Councillor is dependent on representing the community collaboratively.
